It took me 30 minutes, but I called the company when a very suspicious email was sent saying that I got the job after doing an online test.
Now the online test looked legitimate. It asked some basic but appropriate questions. It was done with Google forms and many companies use that in their hiring process especially if they are small business.
His name showed the proper company domain and otherwise there weren’t any red flags in his prior communications. Still even though the English was perfect something still felt off.
Once I told the customer service rep his name he laughed. He shared that he had just talked to someone else who had the same question. Apparently our boy George has been busy. Not that boy George silly although he does seem to be keeping busy.
Probably the most suspicious part was where they asked for the full home address in an email. Most companies would want to do that in a form or HR portal. That’s really the biggest red flag from an other wise good email. Well the high salary was another flag. Companies try to underpay so when I get more than I am expecting, then this person is trying to appeal my greed which will always fail.
Be cautious folks!
