Focusing on being peaceful

I have been focusing on being peaceful and that has been a challenge.

When I find moments in my life that are peaceful like this I use it as an opportunity to grow and address things that have bothered me. My goal is that at the end of my life I will have made peace with everything that bothers me, and that I can be content that I did the best that I could in the world to help and love others.

This isn’t to glorify me but rather to show that I realize that there are things that I can improve. It is easy to deny ways to grow, but if we are attuned to our feelings and thoughts we find ways to improve each day.

This means that I have been giving up on doing things that don’t help me. First by not reading social media that made me unhappy, and also by asking myself if my daily routine is contributing to my happiness as well.

I am not looking for perfection, just improvement. Is there something that I can do or not do that will help myself or others? For example today I had some salad and I love having salad with white beans. Why am I sharing this? I always feel good after eating healthy foods and it is easy to do what is lazy and snack but I never feel satisfied with that. So as time passes, I am doing less snacking and more real eating.

Life is about balance as my doctor often told me. I am only responsible for the choices that I make. Look at your life as the painting you leave behind. What colors and moods do you want your presence to evoke?
