No I am not getting any benefit from sharing this. Focal Bathys are hiding their best feature.

Their best feature is the built in DAC. The manual barely talked about this but since using it, it has made the headphones perfect for me/HSP’s and everyone else.

I turns out that if you connect the headphones with the usb cable they provided and switch it to DAC mode it bypasses Bluetooth and directly sends a signal without the problems of Bluetooth.

What are the problems of Bluetooth? Mostly distortion, hiss and compression. I had had wireless headphones for so long I had just stopped noticing it for the most part. However when I was reading about the benefit of open back headphones, it seemed that for me an HSP that would lead to a worse experience. So Gemini talked about DAC mode, and then it dawned on me, I had everything I needed to use these with DAC.

I had watched audiophile YouTube channels and they always said that you had to buy an external DAC to get DAC to work. So even though they were marked on the headphones, I figured I would need to buy something external. I was wrong. When I flipped it on DAC and listened it was like putting on a new set of headphones. The noise was quiet, and the sound was richer.

Since then I have been rediscovering sounds from my favorite albums. I am listening to my second album now. I hear things that I have never heard before. Things that are subtle because of the noise/compression of using Bluetooth distorted them. No longer will I listen to Bluetooth headphones. Sure I can use these as Bluetooth but I deleted it from my computer and will only use these in DAC mode.

I know to some audiophiles this may sound silly that I didn’t realize this. I always thought you needed external hardware but with these they are the best things I have ever heard. So cool.
