Using a humidifier the last few days has been educational. Here is what I have learned.
When it rains outside the humidity tends to stay towards 50%. Since that is the target range that I want the humidifier has had to work less on rainy days. While this isn’t a surprise, it does make it more convenient to use. It requires changing the water less which is nice.
I cleaned it for the first time yesterday. It had been 4 days since it was turned on. There was very little to clean. It took about 5 minutes which is a nice thing. It is less complex than other humidifiers that I have owned.
It has caused me to feel warmer with the same or lesser heat temperature. So that is saving me money from having the heat exchanging blowing the fan. It also reduces the pollution from outside. The last few days have had more pollution than normal.
I moved my air filter unit from being 3 feet away to being 15 feet away. I didn’t want any chance of it interfering. I also am considering getting another air purifier. With the heavy pollution I have had recently it concerns me how often the light shows the worst air quality.
I am enjoying the cleanest and most balanced air I have ever had in my life. It makes it easier to breath and makes me feel good about the shared air system the building has. My last apartment just had leaky insulation which I fixed and then opened a window and got the fumes from the passing cars. I think this system is better and I am definitely healthier here.
