Don’t publish 8 posts a day on LinkedIn

I tried this and I got fewer views than when I only published two posts per day.

I don’t think the quality was lower. I think that people were exhausted from looking at the content. Right now I am testing 4 posts per day. I might slip down to 3 today. I get busy and it takes some time to think of something that people will benefit from. It takes longer to decide what I want to write than actually writing it.

Increasingly I am starting posts and then as I am writing it I think no I don’t think people want to know/hear about that. Part of what makes someone interesting is they can imagine what is useful to someone else. If you share boring things all the time, then naturally people will think you are boring.

Now I could blame the recent Linux content. I don’t think that is the case. I am seeing videos on YouTube of people who feel the same as I do. Microsoft overreached with the Recall feature and wanted to take back their privacy and control of their personal computer. I don’t think this is a blip. I think that people are tired of the poor security that companies have. They are tired of their Credit card being breached and their personal information available. They are tired of using password managers and tired of feeling they have no choice in anything. For them, Linux represents some ability to control part of their daily existence.

For me, Linux represents that and also opportunities to learn more about open source. So far it has been a very enjoyable process.
