Why am I sharing this? There are things that ChatGPT has said that I need time to process.
I have been trying all kinds of questions with ChatGPT. It does surprisingly well. Sometimes the answers are very thoughtful. Clearly it has really absorbed peoples original content. I don’t imagine that the computer is wise, it is just a parrot.
Still increasingly I find what it can do is useful. When a recruiter asked me to customize my resume it was easy to do with ChatGPT. I made that folder today so that if they wanted more customization I wouldn’t have to do rework.
I had two other things in it that I had asked that I am still thinking about. It is interesting that we can learn things even from things that aren’t conscious or alive isn’t it? Yes we learn things from books, but an LLM is both dead and alive. Clearly dead and not conscious, but also with an echo of life that it can be forced to respond with the thoughts of other humans. It is like using a ghost that can talk to the dead. It may not be reliable, but it is interesting.
One day we may choose to share our knowledge with others when society doesn’t make hoarding knowledge a financial method of survival. To that point, if anything you read here is useful then steal it and don’t look back.
