Why am I sharing this?

For several reasons. 1. It continues to grow on me how much the value of silence helps HSPs focus and learn.

I have used these every time that I really want to focus on something without distractions. I have no doubt that if all HSP’s had these from birth they would achieve more in their life because they wouldn’t suffer from distractions. If you know of an HSP buy them this as a gift and they will love you for it.

For example I put them on right now because the noise outside was distracting me. Instead of distracting myself with social media, I can use these and really focus and not pay attention to the outside noises or trashy social media.

Social media is becoming less useful for me. That is another reason why these are so helpful. I can just put these on and not worry about trying to drown out noise with music or social media.

Now another consequence is that I listen to music less. Not terrible, but surprising. I love music but I love silence more. This is one of the reasons why WFH is so important to me. With silence I can focus and think about a problem deeply and really make progress on something that is complex.

If you work in a job where you have to analyze problems and come up with solutions don’t discount the value of silence. I know that it can be scary to be alone with your thoughts if you aren’t used to it, but in time you will love your thoughts. Your thoughts can be supportive and nurturing and heal instead of hurt you. One step at a time. Letting there be silence is the first step in achieving the peace that so many people are seeking for.
