I had a recruiter tell me today that the company he is working with is ready to hire, and it is because they feel confident that things are settled with tariffs.
So if you can’t get a job, it could be because business are concerned about tariffs.
Now the nice thing is that companies that are hiring now were prepared and thought about what might happen and made a plan and now carrying it out. Companies that are reactive, tend to not do as well.
Often I have worked with reactive companies, and it is been a challenge to get them to respond to things in the way that they are asking to fix. For example, I once worked with a client who wanted to increase security but pushed back on licensing costs to improve security. They got hacked. Unfortunately you have to spend money to save money.
If you find a company hiring now, it probably means they are a more stable company. Choose a company hiring now rather than a big name.
