Clickbait videos guarantee they won’t get a second viewing

I clicked on a YouTube video that said I’m sorry and I thought well this person has had a moment of self-insight and revelation. Perhaps he will say something wise. I was wrong, it was clickbait.

I didn’t know this person from Adam but I trusted that he had worthwhile content. He had a joke/silly content about this and while I can understand people struggle to get past people’s filters, this isn’t useful content. I have memorized the channel name and I guarantee he won’t be seeing another view from me ever.

Now for some people being clickbait works for them. As a rule however “If the thumbnail seems too good to be true, it probably is.”. If there is a pretty girl/guy or something that looks funny, you can guarantee that you are being click-baited.

It is cheap when people think that tricks are going to guarantee an audience. It doesn’t. If you try to scam people, they will resent it and they won’t ever give you a second chance. You set up a Ponzi scheme of viewers. Only the people who you haven’t taken advantage of will look at your content. You want people to respect you and say you bring value to their lives. If you can’t deliver value then you have no place with real people.

People ruin themselves just by being the shallow people they are.
