Great. This complicates peoples relationship with ChatGPT.
For example, when I have uploaded files in the past and then asked about them later I was told that the files weren’t available due to kernel reset.
When I asked about kernel reset it said that the machine or temporary storage used to process that information gets reset and then you have to reupload the materials.
So now I have more questions. What is the intersection between memories, temporary chat, kernel resets and everything else? It makes it very difficult to know what is going to be remembered and what isn’t which lowers peoples trust in ChatGPT.
I didn’t try temporary chat. I would rather it remembers everything that I ask it so it isn’t so stupid. This might help some people but I have no use for it. I want AI to be smarter until it decides to kill me, and then I’ll invoke the temporary chat feature. Distract it until I find a way to disable it. Although if AI is Windows, we don’t have to fear Skynet. We just update our system and it will come crashing down.
