I am working with a client and I have to use AVD to interact with them.
It was interesting. I sent a meeting invite and it took 2 minutes to have the other employee see my invite. In other companies they have seen the invite in less than a minute.
Now there are lots of variables here that I don’t know. I don’t know where the other employee is located and since many call centers are oversees, that might explain the time difference.
It might also be that she has a slow device and it was slow to update for her. That is logical as well.
However the reason I say that AVD increases latency is because it is a fact. You can’t remotely do something at the same speed as doing it locally. For the most part I am very satisfied with AVD performance. It responds close enough and it is fun to use. It is neat to use other computer resources than local ones, and small application differences don’t really mean much.
It could also be that the problem was mine. Perhaps my AVD region had high utilization and so slowed less important messages. Time will tell and it is fun to be part of the experience.
