Maybe im a science nerd but this opening gives me chills.
Each week as a kid I watched this show fascinated at what I was learning. I never missed an episode. This, Mr. Rodgers, and some other shows that will date me were part of my growing up rotation. It was so great because being a curious kid like myself, I wanted to understand why things happened. I still do.
Curiosity is a powerful motivator to learning. I wonder why people lose their curiosity as they age. I have never lost it. To me being able to learn something each day is part of the joy of living and discovery.
Now if you don’t like science that is ok. Maybe there is something that you are interested and passionate and curious about. Even if you aren’t curious, as long as you are doing something that makes you feel alive and growing then isn’t that all we can ask for in life? You don’t need to be smart to grow. Often people need to grow their emotions and that is not an intellectual process. You can be smart and a jerk, and dumb and emotionally intelligent.
I hope that each day I can grow in as many ways as possible. Not because I need to be better than others, but because it is always fun to push past the boundaries that you thought contained you.
