Why use the audio cable with Bluetooth headphones?

So I have the Focal Bathys and I never thought I’d use Bluetooth headphones with an audio cable but I do. Here is why.

Normally 99% of the time I use them with Bluetooth. However I have two devices at my desk. My personal laptop and my work laptop. For my personal laptop I have it connected through Bluetooth to these headphones. For my work laptop I connect it with the audio cable. Why?

For one reason Bluetooth is not secure. It is easy to output or hijack it to another device. I want to have the best security for work so I don’t use Bluetooth devices on work devices.

Another reason is practically. When you have to switch between Bluetooth devices between windows you have to turn Bluetooth off and then reconnect it through Bluetooth on the other device. Unfortunately windows weaknesses is audio and doing this in Teams often causes problems which I have recently experienced doing this.

So what works is to just plug in the standard audio cable and it works and switches perfectly. It is secure, faster and easier and isn’t that the goal of technology? To just work? I love it and if I had done this in the past it would have made using Bluetooth devices that don’t have multipoint support easier. With Multipoint support you still have problems because sometimes they jump from one device to another and that is annoying as well. Using an audio cable is superior when you absolutely need it to just work.

Don’t get too fancy. Sometimes the low tech method works best.
