I was surprised when earlier this week the output of my projector turned a yellowish hue and a weird circular deformation. Turns out it was my fault.
I first looked to see if it was a power problem. Maybe it wasn’t getting enough power. It uses a lot of power and my thought was that this is what happens if it doesn’t get what it needs. Then I looked at the front of the display to make sure it didn’t look damaged. It turns out that HDMI cable had fallen off the table and was blocking it! Once I removed it, the image returned to normal.
I felt pretty silly. I should have suspected a simple thing rather than getting complicated. Still I was so relieved that it was working fine.
I was curious what the vendors response would be if I said it was broken and it had been broken. They directed me to the OEM and they said that they had two options. Send it in for repair, or do an advanced replacement with a credit card and they would send a new one out and expect the old one back in 30 days. I said I would think about it.
I have only had this projector for a few months but it has been a joy to use. No I am not selling it, but when you have this kind of 5000 lumen brightness you can’t go back to less. My previous projector was 1200 lumen so this was incredible for me to experience and still is incredible.
Its hard to imagine how the image can be better. The only real downside to this is that it has a bit of a noise. I would prefer a completely silent system. I can understand and appreciate the need to remove the heat and the need for a fan to do that. All in all, I am still thrilled with this purchase.
