Cheap Bluetooth mouse chews through batteries

I bought a generic Bluetooth mouse and in the short time I have had it, I am on the third set of batteries.

Now part of this may be my fault. The first and second set of batteries were the ones that came with it, and extra alkaline batteries that I had around for an emergency.

The third set of batteries are the rechargeable batteries that I have, and this should last longer. They are lithium and higher power storage. Since I have two sets of the batteries the other batteries are already charged, and when these need changed they will get charged. It helps to always have a charged backup battery in IT.

So is this a problem with the power savings setting in the mouse? It could be. Frankly it is not worth my time to investigate. I doubt that even if I do find some kind of power setting to change it will do much but be a bother. It is also possible that the batteries that I tried previously were low capacity/dying and that it wasn’t indicative of a problem.

Sometimes to get ahead of a problem you can see an issue that isn’t there. So if I feel that after using it for some time when the batteries die next, there is a problem then I will investigate. Otherwise I’m glad to be saving the almost $90 in difference it cost.
