I have always heard that people slow down when they get older. Perhaps physically but mentally, intellectually I am still as curious as I was as a child.
Why am I sharing this? I have coworkers ask me for help for computer issues that are preventing them from doing their job. I don’t know everything but I try to support people where I can.
The coworker said he was looking somewhere in the OS to fix his issue I had never looked and so I looked it up and then learned something new.
I researched it and he might have found the solution to the problem. Plus now I have a new trick that I can try when I am troubleshooting.
Every time I have helped others, in some way it has benefited myself. Sometimes it hasn’t been in the short term, but over a longer period of time.
Making mistakes isn’t a waste of time. Not learning from them is.
