One of the most helpful things you can do for another person is help them explore themselves.
The image with this post is from a website called Career Explorer. I though it had some wonderful insights about my personality and even was complimentary. I really enjoyed taking it and it was easy to do.
I have written about that site before so if you do a search I am sure you will find it on my website. The reason I am talking about exploration is that this weekend I had a chance to explore a different side of me and that was fun.
Many times in life we have very rigid ideas of what will make us happy. I have learned that if I keep an open mind for things I haven’t done then sometimes I can discover something new I enjoy. I must admit that since I have tried many things I know what I don’t like, but given the opportunity to find new things I do like I also am willing to take chances.
I think the happiest people are open to life because they know that everyday is a chance to explore and learn something new about themselves and the world. One of my mentors was full of curiosity and I admired that about her. I thought she was a amazing person and she shared with me the name of another person who became a mentor as well. She said that I would probably enjoy talking to her as well and she was right. It is amazing but often mentors can see what is special about someone and share that with you.
My life has taken some surprising turns, but being open minded has helped me more than it has hurt me.
