3 more ways to stay cool

I mentioned yesterday it was hot. I have three more things I have done to cool down.

  1. In windows power options you can set the maximum processor speed to only be 99% instead of the default 100. By doing this the laptop doesn’t go into overdrive, which significantly heats it up. Since I have made this change my gaming computer is significantly cooler which has reduced the amount of hot air it is blowing into my room.
  2. I moved my projector screen to block the light from the south facing window. I had put a curtain there but since it was dark it was absorbing the light and heat and not doing as good a job as I wanted. I may buy a white curtain to reflect the light instead.
  3. I bought an different type of AC unit. It is not the traditional unit that hangs out of your window. It is something that looks like a suitcase and then has a small vent that goes in your window to blow out the hot air. I have watched YouTube reviews of people who love these units both because they are quieter, more efficient and easier to deal with. It is supposed to arrive today and I am looking forward to it.

I believe with these changes I will be cool as a cucumber once again. If not then I will continue to update as I have ideas to improve the environment of my apartment.
