This is a good list of windows system optimization tools that are free. If you have to support macs for a non-profit or for people with limited means this will do many of the things commercial software might do more conveniently.

Two ways to fix it. Use a third party uninstaller or probably the faster Microsoft Fix option with the link included in the article.

So has anyone else experienced the Windows RAID breaking and requiring a lengthy rebuild? Seems like it is more trouble than it is worth on a workstation.

Toshibas Libretto W100: Interesting concept but questions abound ZDNet. If the iPad doesn’t excite you perhaps this will. It looks very simliar to the MS tablet.

You can read a review of it in this article Win 7′s built-in speech recognition: a review Bottom line, buy the 3rd party program. It is close but not close enough.
A great in-depth review in this article. Windows 7 isn’t automatically better than XP.
It could be because of your anti-virus or anti whatever program you may have. Try turning it off. ”Before beginning the download, try temporarily disabling your anti-virus and any other anti-whatever that is required with Windows.” Thanks Allan!
This review goes into detail about performance and usability on a VM. The author prefers Ubuntu.
This post goes into some details. More bad than good for him. I wonder if people would have the same expectations for UI if there were more switchers who went from Mac to windows. You don’t really hear many of those.
Has some good information. This should be a starting point if you use Windows 7.
This is very clever. Thanks Jens! “
According to a thread on Apple’s Discussion boards, I quote:
I have a possible solution for some. It doesn’t exactly BIND the Windows 7 machine, but at least you can have users authenticate against your OD servers instead of having OD bound to an AD server.
Step one: Download and install pGina 2.x (http://sourceforge.net/projects/pgina/files/)
Step two: Download the LDAPAuth plugin from same location
Step three: configure pgina with the appropriate ldap settings for your environment. ()
Users can now log in.
I’d be interested to know if this works for anyone. I’m not currently in a position to experiment with this option, but will when I have the chance.”
This is an obscure error. Moonbeam1981 seemed to fix it themselves. Turns out “Thanks for your help, but I’d just tried somthing else and it seems to have worked. After looking at all the forums, uninstalling and reinstalling itunes, updating USB drivers etc I came across this thread:
http://discussions.info.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2385583&tstart=0
I re-named C:\Windows\libxml2.dll
to libxml2.dl
sqlite3.dll wasn’t in my C:\Windows\ folder so I didn’t change this. Obviously this may cause problems elsewhere but things appear to be working normally so far.
It is worth a try if you’re getting desperate.

This tells you step by step on how to achieve that. Even better you can learn other things at this website.
Probably the start of a larger trend. Its getting hard for people to justify the cost of Windows. I thought he had a thoughtful argument here.
Do you get this error message “This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes.” Apparently there is a work around by a Japanese Yukichigal here. Thanks!
This article gives some reasons why you might choose one over the other. Personally I think one is clearly better than the other.
Nice instructions if you have this problem. I would rather buy a wireless hardware print server myself that has printer sharing built in.
This is a weird issue. Fortunately he got it fixed with OUTSTANDING technical support.

As Yvonne states “This message is normal when running the fax server on a Windows 7, 2008 or Vista system. This is because of a security restriction in Windows that does not allow the service to directly interact with the desktop, so the fax server needs to switch to application mode when you open the user interface of the fax server.” Click here to visit her page for more Fax related info.
