I never understood that phrase. Is it an invitation of you to ignore the evil in the world, or a plea to avoid doing evil yourself? If it is a plea, then how can removing yourself from evil help? It seems to me that to be helpful, you have to do more than avoid evil, you have focus on things that are life-giving.

A few years ago I used to go to BlockBuster and rent ps2 games. The selection was poor and when I asked about it, the employee said that the more that people rent the more they will offer. This seemed a circular argument to me. How can you rent stuff when they choose poor titles? I think what business often fail to do is to appreciate the passion of their audience. When they compete on just price, they miss the essential part of what the consumers of that segment want. I wouldn’t have minded paying a higher price for quality games that cost a little more new.
