Help! iPad calendar sync issues with…: Apple Support Communities. This seems to cause issues. Very interesting. You would think this shouldn’t affect it. Why have a feature if its not tested and supported?

OSX Lion dont work with my Internet…: Apple Support Communities. Interesting that companies don’t make it easier to make their products work. I would avoid Olicard hardware just because of the poor support. Thanks robertobb.

How can I permanently remove Norton AV…: Apple Support Communities. Thanks macjack. It is better to avoid Norton stuff on the Mac. They have had a terrible reputation for years for things like this.

Good ‘ol Norton!

If you choose to show invisibles. The quickest way is to Launch /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app and copy/paste this command at the flashing cursorPress Return

defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES

Press Return

Look for norton files on the top level of your hard drive.

To turn off invisibles

defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles No

Press Return

edit: Also look in /Library

and in /System/Library/LaunchDaemons

Software Update will not recognize an…: Apple Support Communities. Thanks Joey! I wonder why HP just doesn’t say that?

This problem can be solved by removing the following directory and then installing the update via Software Update

HD/Library/Printers/hp/Frameworks/HPSmartX.framework

Gmail Badge won’t update: Apple Support Communities

Gmail Badge won’t update: Apple Support Communities. Nice solution by Scott Nash. I wonder if this is a weakness with Lion Mail?

Ok.  With the help of tech support, I managed to fix this problem.  Since I’m clearly NOT a moron who just doesn’t know what I’m doing, I suspect it’s possible others might have the same problem.  The issue was the envelope index file in the library.

~library/mail/v2/mail data/envelope index

If you delete that file it forces a ‘deep rebuild’ that recollects ALL your metadata.  It does not have recall your data from the servers, just the hard drive so it’s pretty quick.  After about four minutes of rebuilding, all my stuff reappeared and the badges were correct.

This is similar, but more extensive than the ‘rebuild’ at the bottom of the mailbox menu.  That didn’t work, but this did.
