It isn’t Photoshop, but it might do the job for people who are on a budget and starting their own company. Well, there is an answer – Photoshop CS 3 is not compatible with Snow Leopard. Found this out by going to the Adobe website and doing a chat with a knowledgeable sales rep.
As a result, I bought the CS 5 upgrade, installed it, and it was a Christmas miracle. It DID solve the Photoshop “not returning to last folder used” problem AND the dark prints problem (I also installed the Epson driver for Snow Leopard).
So if anyone else is looking for a solution to this problem, that’s it. And a good reminder not to assume that older applications will work under a new version of the operating system.
