A FREE Utility to Backup Your Gmail (via What’s On My PC)

This could be useful if you need to have a backup for legal purposes or rarely used email accounts.

Personally, I am a major player when it comes to using Gmail. I use Gmail as my primary email client (or service provider) instead of using a locally installed client such as Outlook, Windows Live Mail, or Thunderbird.  The only problem with my strategy is that all of my email transactions are stored in the cloud (on the internet) and not on my local computer. Outlook 2010 & Acrobat 9 Don’t Play Well Together (Yet) (via Oregon Law Practice Management)

Two ways to fix Outlook users not receiving iCal calendar invites

1.  Get them to update their client.  Bat Drive suggests “I’ve just been advised that MS has a patch to fix Outlook’s inability to read 3rd party invites. The link is:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/944094

MS lists the “symptoms” as: “Consider the following scenario. In Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, you receive an invitation to a meeting. The invitation is in a third-party calendar format. For example, the invitation is in the Apple iCal format. In this scenario, you cannot accept the invitation.”

2. Use a different program Busycal.  ”I recently learned about an alternative calendar called BusyCal, which I’m using on a trial basis. So far I’m able to send/receive invites to Outlook users using this calendar. It improrts all your iCal data and syncs with iCal your Mac and iPhone calendars, as well as MobileMe. The url is busymac.com”
