Ever used CCleaners delete free space function?

Windows XP FAIL

I did for the first time tonight on an old XP system that I have a Craigslist ad for in the NY area. It said it would take a significant amount of time to do and it wasn’t kidding! With a 140 GB drive it said it will take 15 hours! So I am letting it do that now.

If I can’t find anyone who wants it, I guess I will keep it as a spare. It seems a waste to me to throw a computer away that is perfectly functional. Perhaps I could find a charity who could use an XP machine.

I have rescued old systems in past places I have worked and given them to friend and charities. I know computers can be slow, but they are still very useful tools.

Disk Drill is Lion compatible!

This is fantastic news. I found out from the developer that they are prepared for the next version of Mac OS X Lion. So that means that in the process of changing and cleaning house, people will be protected from their or Apple’s mistakes.

I have been using Disk Drill and it has worked great for me. I love the fact that it can protect programs from being undeleted. For example, many people accidentally drag and drop and delete the wrong application. Then they have to learn how to fix that problem and use unsupported third-party software. Rather than do that, they can just use DD to fix that problem. It is like having Time Machine but not having to buy an external drive. It has saved me time and money.

Fir/Sir/Mir XP/Vista & MAC OS X USB 2.0 Infrared Adapter IrDA up to 4Mbps U2-IRDA $39.98

Fir/Sir/Mir XP/Vista & MAC OS X USB 2.0 Infrared Adapter IrDA up to 4Mbps U2-IRDA $39.98. Interesting. I had someone do a search for this term today and so I thought I’d write something about it. It allows you to connect through the IrDA interface. This might be useful if you want to sync with IrDA devices.
