More get jobs using Facebook than LinkedIn, Twitter – Silicon Valley / San Jose Business Journal. This is interesting. I have gotten many opportunities from LinkedIn. Looks like I might have gotten more if I had used Facebook. I used Facebook for awhile, but too many people I didn’t want in my life contacted me.

Half of Facebook users cant keep up with sites snooping policies as site… – StumbleUpon. This does seem excessive doesn’t it? It’s either a sign that they don’t know what they are doing, or doing this to wear people out into submitting their personal information.

Popups on Stumbled Pages-will ban your domain

I StumbleUpon often and I have noticed a strong correlation of useless content to pages that have pop ups. Almost every page that I have looked at, has had silly stuff.

So to save myself time now, I just ban domains that have pop ups. I might miss some good ones, but I also miss the overwhelming junk.

I hope marketers are listening, because people are using programs like Adblock to avoid your messages. You have to provide something compelling to a web surfer, not just a call to action. Most of these pop ups are saying something like increase my popularity on other social networking or subscribe to my newsletter. How about letting me read your content first so I can judge?

Twitter Users Congregate Based on Mood, Study Says – NYTimes.com. “Birds of a feather flock together?” I was surprised by what SharonMcEarchern said:

Hells bells, we still don’t even know what happiness is. Another recent research study found that college students were happier receiving praise rather than sex or money. Oh, come on now!

Don’t expect private messages on Twitter to be private

Third-Party Twitter Apps Can Access Your Private Messages Without Authorization. How disappointing. This is like the Facebook leak where they said they “accidentally” allowed advertisers to see information that they promised the privacy settings didn’t allow. It is things like this that ruin and don’t allow people to build trust in the integrity of the cloud.
