Lots of legal action that Google is seeing. Sort of like Apple in that way as well.
This is a great website full of great information and tutorials.
Have you ever heard that saying, “What do I have to do, draw you a picture?”. Well, when it comes to computers, I say “YES”! Years ago when I was managing a network where I was the jack of all trades, master of none, I was tasked with getting people onboard with Microsoft Office. Keep in mind, this was a time when people had just mastered the learning curve for WordPefect, the defacto wordprocessing program at the time. One thing I learned dur … Read More

Is Windows powerless against the onslaught of malware? Its been years since the Trusted Computer initiative and things aren’t any better.
A new version of the malware that crippled Windows PCs last February sidesteps safeguards designed to block rootkits from hijacking machines running 64-bit editions of Windows, researchers said Thursday. “A new era has officially dawned: the era of x64 rootkits,” said Prevx researcher Marco Giuliani in a post to the security vendor’s blog yesterday. The updated rootkit, which goes by names that include Alureon, TDL, TLD3 and Tidserv, is able to i … Read More

Some excuse why this isn’t 64 bit. Is MS spending so much money-making failing phones that it can’t invest in sewing up the Mac market? Seriously they could own the market if Ballmer was paying attention.
by Rob EnslinMicrosoft reveals Office for Mac 2011 will be 32-bit only [Via AppleInsider] Set for release this fall, Microsoft‘s forthcoming Office for Mac 2011 will only be available as a 32-bit product because it hasn’t completely transitioned to Cocoa for Mac OS X. Was this naturally caused? It seems too perfect to just happen organically.
If you look closely you will notice that the OS is 9. Its fun to see how long they are used for real work.

Interesting how far we work for backward compatibility. Seems like they could have changed it at the railroad stage with little pain. I guess this is the Microsoft way of thinking. “Lets make it compatible no matter what the costs!”
Few days ago, I got an email from my uncle with ‘Story of Technological Evolution‘ as the subject. As, I opened the message, I found out that this mail was a funny one, rather than a scientific one. So, I thought I’d share this one with you guys. Enjoy this story of technological evolution…. …… ……!! Subject: RAILROAD TRACKS The US standard of a railroad gauge (distance between the rails) is 4 feet 8.5 inches. That’s an exceedingly o … Read More

Would you do this? I wouldn’t. He says “Its only $150 next year”. Oh that’s entirely reasonable then. I think the hard part for most average people is paying $245 for something that is complex. People don’t really want to have to spend money and time to figure something out.
Recently I just paid ~21,000yen for a one year MS TechNet Standard subscription for myself, for usage at home. I’m not at all sure if this is common or whether people still think Technet is just for business – or even if many people have even heard of it. Essentially though, this gets me access to most MS OSs and their variants (32-/64- bit, languages etc.) e.g. XP, Vista, Windows 7 and several server versions. It also allows me to use various ve … Read More

This is an interesting idea. Can the past success also decide the future success?
No, this isn’t some sort of epistemological exploration of what “right” really means, or whether such a thing can exist at all in a post-modern world. Quite the opposite: it is a blog entry on corporate culture and how that culture works, or doesn’t work, at successful companies, in this case Google and Microsoft. Peter Sims wrote a piece about why he thinks Google is potentially past its prime, on the way to becoming the next Microsoft. I don’t … Read More

I wonder if Microsoft is worried? How could Balmer allow this to happen?
After living in the shadows of Microsoft for 30 years, Apple is just a hair behind Microsoft in sales. Will this quarter be the one? by Andy M. Zaky, contributor Whether it deserves it or not, Apple has held onto its lead over Microsoft in terms of market capitalization since it first surpassed it back in May. While it may be bigger in value thanks to a meteoric stock surge, Apple’s revenue and earnings still fall short compared to Microsoft. But … Read More

Recently, I upgraded my laptop from Windows XP to Windows 7. I thought there was no compatibilty issue of win 7 with my hardware, if the hardware works on xp it also works on 7. But I was wrong, my old printer, canon bjc265sp, didn’t installed itself by 7, not like xp. So I search over the internet for the driver, I am unlucky, now Canon don’t continue the support for the driver. The latest driver version only works on XP. I try to search on goog … Read More

This is an interesting program. If you are looking for another way to launch applications you might like this.
Windows “Start” menu is pretty cool – it acts much like a one stop shop for application launch, and it allows access to additional functions and computer locations. Overall, the start menu suits me well, but I’m always curious about tools that claim to make my Windows experience a little faster or, a little easier. So, when I came across a small free application from Microsoft Office Labs – Speed Launch, I took it for a spin. Speed Launch, at its … Read More

Here’s the trick. Buy “Perfect Browser” app for iPad. In the settings-desktop web rendition for perfect browser you can tell it to report/look like other browsers. Set it to IE8 and your “good to go”.
MSN Message boards works fine. You’re in effect, tricking MSN into thinking you’re on IE.
