Language. Interesting error. Nice solution by Carolyn. I have never seen this personally. I would have suspected a corrupted font for the designers that would have an issue with this.

Might be a corrupted preference file  (.plist)

Go to ~/Library/Preferences

Move the com.apple.systempreferences.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.

Restart your Mac.

In \. This would be very irrating for photographers or anyone who deals with lots of photos. Good work Dreaz!

In case anyone else has noticed this issue, I found the answer. It’s a Lion issue, so delete the following plist:

~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Preview/

2011 MacBook Air, 2 days old, White Screen Of Death during Boot Camp – YouTube

2011 MacBook Air, 2 days old, White Screen Of Death during Boot Camp – YouTube. He posted this followup.

Just a followup. Took the Air to the Apple Store and the tech replaced my Air with a brand new one, no questions asked. Said the HD probably went bad. I’m skeptical and think it was just a partition issue during boot camp partitioning. New Air is working well, just using VM, no bootcamp.

MacBook Pro WiFi issues being ignored by Apple – TNW Apple

MacBook Pro WiFi issues being ignored by Apple – TNW Apple. Reliable wi-fi connections on the mac have been a problem since it was available. The best combination seemed to be using Extreme or Express. I have seen customers have problems with every type of wireless access point.

This article doesn’t suggest a solution for everyone, but replacing the equipment fixed it for him. If money is no object, purchasing an Apple router/WAP is the quickest fix.

Is the MacBook Air an innovative design?

Day 303/365.v2

Up in the Air | Laptops | Macworld. Yes. This is a mostly complimentary article about Air’s and why people who have them seem to love them. Surprisingly most people seem ok with giving up their CD/DVD disks. I always thought that the people who have invested in software or movies would resist buying a device that didn’t support them built-in, but it doesn’t seem to be the case.

Unable to send mail using MobileMe…: Apple Support Communities

Ron Guest fixed it. This is a generally good idea to delete and re-add email accounts. It fixes many mysterious issues. The next upgrade is just to delete his MobileMe account.

OK. I self-solved this one. I deleted the MobileMe account on the MacBook Air, quit Mail, then started it up again and re-added the MobileMe account in Mail. Now I can send just fine.

Dear Apple: My Macbook Keeps Trying To Light My House On Fire, Please Replace It – The Consumerist

Image via Wikipedia

Dear Apple: My Macbook Keeps Trying To Light My House On Fire, Please Replace It – The Consumerist. Surprising that Apple didn’t replace it. I wonder why? Apple is fixing my laptop for the 4th time. I will also need to buy a battery for it. I don’t know how I will afford the $129 for that. Maybe I can find something on Craigslist.
