What Doesn’t Kill Me, Only Makes Me . . . Similar? « JETLawBlog: The Official Blog of the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law.  ”Rapper Kanye West once humbly proclaimed, “I realize that my place and position in history is that I will go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade, I will be the loudest voice.” One can only hope that the voice of this generation is not a mishmash imitation of artists past, but according to a copyright infringement lawsuit filed against Kanye West, the voice of this generation is a copycat of sources from Nietzsche to Daft Punk.”  I have written and have other posts about Mashups.  Nice examination of the topic.

AT&T and $35 restocking fee

So I bought a $30 GoPhone when my iPhone was stolen.  On the box when I got home was a red sticker that said “This Product Has a $35 Restocking Fee”.  So I looked and found the offical AT&T policy right here:

AT&T Returns Policy & Early Termination Fee.  Apparently just to even test their equipment I get the privilege of paying them $5!  Isn’t that great?  You pay your monthly fee and if they phone doesn’t work, you can pay more until you find one that has good reception.  This phone doesn’t have any better reception, so at least the iPhone wasn’t to blame.
