When your Macbook is dying Apple looks pretty bleak. I can understand how he feels.
I had an iPod first generation die and I didn’t buy another iPod after that. It died just after the warranty was over and that is such a frustrating feeling. Especially because it was $400 then. I used it as a fire wire bootable drive for diagnostic reasons and it worked great for that. Perhaps those small drives just don’t like non music use. I have an older MacBook now and when it goes I will be sad but accept it. I would ideally like to get a years worth of use out of it, and I am at 10 months so far. Since I bought it used, I accept it will fail and then time to move to something else. I hate seeing older electronics be thrown away.
The “Z” key fell off this morning (I had to use Keyboard Viewer on my Macbook to type “Z”). Also, my hard drive has failed before, the frame around the screen almost fell off, and the top and bottom aren’t aligned. My Applecare has expired too. To those that think I “love” Apple: I don’t.
