Interesting that there is more interest in Mac viruses.

I wonder if this means that Mac anti-virus companies have a stronger case to make for purchase of their software? Thanks Intego!

The top 10 things you can do to keep your Macintosh safe on the Internet. This is a good list to start with. There are other articles at this website that talk about further details to secure for legal requirements.

Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard font management. This has a great deal of information about using fonts like truetype, dfont, and others. It has over 70 comments, so you can learn a great deal about common problems and solutions. Applications like Adobe, Quark and others can require some special work to get fonts to work properly. I like Font Explorer X the best, and the last time I checked it was $49 per user.

That MAC Defender/Mac Security Malware discussed on Macintouch. In the past 48 hours as I have been surfing SU sites, I have been forced to download anti-malware.zip twice. No choice, just immediate download. This is the most aggressive Mac virus I have seen for quite a while.
It turns out that this error will occur when you don’t have as much free space as the space your home folder occupies. Either delete things or clone to a bigger disk. Thanks WZZZ.

Mikolaj found that anti-virus program VirusBarrier was the problem. I haven’t have any problem with Sophos and love it. That makes Virex, Macafee for Mac, and Symantec known problems to make stability.
Well – it seems I didn’t remove ALL the VirusBarrier files… I used AppZapper, but it didn’t find everything – mainly preferences and preference panes, as well as other things which, so it seems, checked my computer for viruses so thoroughly they made it freeze. When I found them by myself, by checking everything in the Library for everything Intego-related, and thrashed them, the freezing stopped. It’s two weeks now and no freeze at all… Looks like VirusBarier is to blame. Perhaps is it a conflict with some other app on my mac, but I’d beware of installing it on my disk again…
