I had a friend who did a few months ago and he explained it was a pretty easy process. He said he went to the Cook County Marriage Certificates page. It turns out that it only takes about $50 to get married in Chicago.

So is he happy now after a few months of marriage? Yes. He said that having a partner is one of the best things in his life. I didn’t figure him for the marrying type but you never know do you?

One day it wouldn’t surprise me if Apple offered marriages in the store as a service. People have done it many times before. It would be fitting since many people share their lives with so much apple technology.

I learned from the Cook County Call Center that if you call:

1-877-426-6515 and ask to speak to Homeless Prevention/Rental Help you can be evaluated to see if you qualify for short-term help. Apparently you can also be referred to a non-profit organization they work with in your area, and further evaluation will take place.

Nice to know these services exist in Chicago!

Apparently the Mayo clinic suggests this as well to reduce memory loss, and some doctors thinks this can also prevent the onset of Alzheimer’s.

How is 1968 like the current computer climate? Find out in this persons first hand account. I once had a boss tell me that Chicago was one of the racist cities he had ever lived in. I only moved to Chicago 10 years ago so I didn’t really understood what he meant. He shared with me one day that the police once stopped him even though he had a nice car and hadn’t done anything wrong. The officer said he was just doing seatbelt inspections.

Feel The Hate I will never forget 1968. I was a mere 9 years of age, growing up in south suburban Chicago. Our fair village was in the midst of a social change the likes of which had never been felt before in those parts. The tensions that ensued as a once-white community became increasingly integrated, mirroring Chicago to the north, erupted into race riots. I watched one right through the window of my classroom one day. And I saw even bigger ones on televisi … Read More
