Apple Blocks Emails for Objectionable Content. This is concerning. So using MobileMe for business purposes has another reason to avoid. I like Apple, but its quiet censorship alarms me sometimes.

I used to have a MobileMe account until last year. It was just too slow and prone to problems to be useful even for personal use. I have Gmail now which is more useful, but now I wonder what spam messages are blocked that I don’t know about. Perhaps it is time to get a dedicated email system for my domain and setup my own filter.

Apple iCloud vs Google vs Amazon Cloud Drive vs Dropbox vs Microsoft SkyDrive – Pocket-lint. Interesting comparison. I think that they haven’t used the client versions enough and are not concerned enough about security. Suggesting that Dropbox is #1 IMHO is wrong compared to SugarSync and their better security process. Still worth reading over.

Does Apple Care About Pro Market? Not Really, Says Former Shake Product Designer | Mac|Life. I am always surprised when I read stories like this. So I responded below but it said it triggered the spam filter. Where is the spam? I guess you can only post if you don’t reference your evidence.

Mr. Jobs has said on several occasions that Apple is first a consumer focused company. The professional versions were just opportunities they had. They still are focused on the bottom line, and that means winning over the vast legions of the public who are using windows.

Time after time, professional products are canceled and people forget. Do you remember the Blu-Ray drives that never happened? Or the recent dropping of Xserve/Xraid arrays? Why do people forget the past?

You can find out more about what Apple has said they want to be here.

Apple is great at learning from mistakes

WWDC: A Look at Apple’s Networking Magic | Mac|Life. Not only its own, but also the mistakes of others. Remember the event where they didn’t have enough bandwidth and they had to ask people to not use the Wi-Fi? I bet after that event, that was addressed so it will never be an issue again. Apples genius is in executing countless details, and keeping the lessons learned from history alive. So many companies learn things, but then commit the same mistakes again.
