I have had some HP equipment that failed as well. It really is hard to get reliable cheap computer equipment.

Getting a pen failure on your HP Deskjet 6540?
Apparently eulies discovered the answer. ”thank you for your help. I’ve learned that “pen failure” happens when the cartridge is either improperly installed or no good.” I wonder if he used a 3rd party cartridge. I have never gotten this error message.
HP Scanner No Longer Works with Snow Leopard
CharPatton’s HP DeskJet F4280 All-In-One didn’t work with Snow Leopard until Joesph made a few suggestions. “HP Scan Pro no longer works and needs deleting.
Once that is done, then try Software Update and see if there are any new HP drivers.
There definitely are new drivers out..
Also make sure you delete all your printers from the Print/Fax preference pane.
Then ADD your printer.
This should work.”

The developments in 3D printing are very exciting. I wonder when an affordable consumer model will be made available? Probably HP would argue this is as affordable it gets now with the current technology. This would be so helpful for so many occupations. Lots of fun too!
