Forget Acquisitions: Apple control the Supply Lines | Alex Blom. Interesting analysis. It seems so obvious when we are looking back that they were several steps ahead of their competitors. I always thought Apple was ahead of their competitors even with the earliest designs.

Yes, you would use an ethernet cable and the ports for each and disconnect the USB connections when you want it to work. What I am doing is temporarily disconnecting the ethernet cable connect (and going offline) and connecting the ethernet cable to the HP m1522nf and doing some scanning. When I’m done, I disconnect the cable and go back online. It seems to be working and I haven’t gotten the error reports after scanning like I did in the beginning . Its seems that this will allow you to get that function from your HP until they develop a better driver that works with Lion. Hope this helps all those affected.

This is if you want to use the scanning and printing function. If you just want to print it is currently working.

iOS: AirPrint 101. So is there a third-party way to get printers that are not AirPrint ready compatible with it? I really want to stick with Canon printers. All the printers on this list are HP. I wonder if they had an exclusive with them?

How to get the Lexmark 500 to work in Snow Leopard

Lexmark x502n: Apple Support Communities. This documents the step by step required to fix the problem. Several solutions are posted. I had someone search for this term today so that’s why this post is made.

beerlao has the solution:

Hi,

just have a look into your CUPS error log. In my case it said:

Unable to execute /Library/Printers/Lexmark/LexmarkX500MFP/LexmarkX500Filter.app/Contents/MacOS/L exmarkX500Filter: insecure file permissions (0100755)

Setting the the driver directory and its contents to root:admin (user:group) did the trick for me:

chown -R root:admin /Library/Printers/Lexmark/LexmarkX500MFP

You need root privileges to do that.
