Passware claims FireVault 2 can be cracked in under an hour, sells you the software to prove it — Engadget. So this isn’t a big surprise. What is surprising to me is if you have physical access to the machine, why not use the easier route to unlock it?

When the supercomputers that the government have gathering as much information as they do, it seems that a password would be trivial to figure out. I wonder why they would make this study available if true.
jfucci has the answer. It appears that once you enable FileVault in Lion, you are able to install ESet Cybersecurity and use it normally.
I, too, have ESet Cybersecurity. I tried just running the repair permissions through the Disk Utility, but that did not work. Only after I uninstalled Eset and then ran repair permissions did FileVault finally enable.

Why is Guest Account option disabled…: Apple Support Communities. Makes sense. If you are wanting a secure computer eliminating an insecurity is logical.
It turns out that this error will occur when you don’t have as much free space as the space your home folder occupies. Either delete things or clone to a bigger disk. Thanks WZZZ.
