Using BCC to email people in bulk? Shame on you. – Entrepreneur. Instead of trying to shoehorn Outlook or Entourage into doing something it’s not great at, read the article above. It gives some reasons why this is a dangerous practice. It also is a silly one. For less than 2,000 people MailChimp does it for free. What a deal!

Is Outlook 2011 a resource hog on your Mac?

It was for Hsoi. Here is what I suggested in his comments:

Have you tried rebuilding your email database? This has fixed the sluggish problems that I have had in the past with Entourage and people who have thousands of messages. Also, Entourage doesn’t seem to like thousands of messages in a folder, so if you keep the totals less than 2000 msg per folder it seems to perform much faster.

Here is the link to the Microsoft KB on how to fix rebuild the database. It’s very easy and generally safe.

I have read two articles like this of people who have lost data with Outlook 2011. If you have IMAP it might be worth using. If you have POP mail, I would strongly suggest backing up your information daily.
