Stunning Vintage Photos of Australian Bike Culture in the Early 1900s | Brain Pickings

Stunning Vintage Photos of Australian Bike Culture in the Early 1900s | Brain Pickings. Isn’t it surprising to read and look at things from the past? Like this photo from the article above that says “Ice cream the health food of a nation” They probably believed it back then. Makes you want to be more critical with advertising messages now doesn’t it?

I was surfing today and I thought I read “Creative Whineing”. Turns out it was really “Creative Writing”. I wonder if I’m just reading too fast, or it was a bad font choice? I always try to blame other people if I can. Don’t you?

Anyone else tired of hearing dumb sayings?

1902 Barber Dime

If you read on the Internet, you find certain phrases used way past a healthy lifespan. Today the phrase that is irritating me is “turn on a dime”.

Ok, let’s think about this for a minute. What can really turn on a dime? No car, vehicle or anything else that I know can turn on a dime. I saw a lawnmower once that seemed to rotate on its inner wheel, but that was a lot larger than a dime. I think the only thing that could turn on a dime is a drunk ant. Are you with me?

iPads eliminate paper, save money for localities – Daily Press. This is interesting. Suddenly there are business reasons to use tablets i.e. iPads. Sometimes I wonder if it is just laziness that keeps people from finding ways to save money and be environmental. We have limited resources folks.
