Do you have a mysterious disappearing icon in your dock?
The Logitech Control Center Update strikes again. Probably best if you just avoid this software. Thanks Jeremy! ”OK, mystery solved. It’s the “Logitech Control Center Update” application.

I finally got a screen capture of it when it opened up in the Dock before it disappeared. The icon has a black Logitech mouse in the lower right corner, a light green “Download” icon (arrow pointing downward to computer) in the upper left corner, and a gray-white background. “
Is your Finder running constantly and taking up CPU?
You may notice this by using Activity Monitor. If this has happened you will benefit from following Kappy’s advice. “Most likely it’s crashed. Press COMMAND-OPTION-ESC, select the Finder, click on the Relaunch button. If that doesn’t help then use Activity Monitor. Select the Finder in the Processes list, click on the Quit icon in the toolbar, click on the Force Quit button.
The Finder should relaunch automatically, but if it does not then click on the Finder’s Dock icon.”
