Rationalizing an expensive phone. (via TheBlog)

This is a thoughtful process of deciding what kind of phone is best for his life.

Rationalizing an expensive phone. This my opinion and I base it on my past experiences dealing with cell phones and carriers alike. To start I would like to say that you will have your own opinion about what cell phones should be used for.  I know that there are people (including my dad) that say I just want something that works.  To those people let me say that you … Read More

How do I Pair an iOS4 iPhone to an Acura HandsFreeLink?

iggyandspike had the solution.

I’ve posted in several of the discussion forums that I have been unable to pair my 3GS since upgrading to iOS4. After reading several other forums about other problems, I did the following, and my phone was paired! I waited a few minutes and went back out there and started the car again and the phone was still paired. I turned it off & on a few times and it stayed paired. So, at least at this point in time, it works.

Here’s what I did. I’m not exactly sure which of these things caused it to work, but this is everything I’ve done:

Turned the phone off and on

reset settings (settings/general/reset/reset all settings)

deleted all previously paired phones from my car’s memory

followed pairing process, but this time, I clicked/tapped/touched the “HandsFreeLink TM” showing on my phone (it usually would proceed on its own when it “found” the phone), which sent it to the “enter passcode” screen (4 digit code the pairing process prompts you for earlier), entered the code, and the phone was paired.

Like I said, I’m not exactly sure which of these things was “the key” but I did them all, and now my bluetooth works in my car again.
