Doing the right thing

I went to a business once and had an appointment that I had confirmed the day before. I waited 30 minutes for the person to show up and I didn’t hear anything from them. So I left and requested the owner of the business to contact me.

It was a week later that I got a card in the mail saying the owner tried to call me, and had a $100 gift certificate. I didn’t go back to the business. If they waste peoples time, then giving them a second chance isn’t going to help me.

Doing the right thing means communicating with your client before there is a problem, and letting them know that you are doing your best to solve it. Not in ignoring the problem, and then trying to patch it up later.

Facebook Used by Courts to Find Those Who Are ‘Only Online’ – Businessweek. Sounds like a great way to get in touch with all those million of US defaulters doesn’t it? Save the collection agency some money and them actually having to do work to get paid or not get paid. If you are in New Zealand, Canada or U.K. you might have already experienced this.
