Excellent help MadisonP.

Greetings Dinger,

As you tested in a new user we know this is not an issue with iCal, rather with some piece of data in your user account. Good testing!

1. Backup your data: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1553

2. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:

Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical

Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)

Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)

—NOTE: Removing these files may remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.

—NOTE: To get to “Home > Library” in Lion hold down the option key and click on “Go” while in the Finder.

3. If the issue persists boot into Safe Mode and test again and report your results: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455

Hope that helps.

Looking to get Holidays on your iPad Calendar?

English: Front of white iPad 2.
Image via Wikipedia

Two ways to make this happen according to this Apple Discussions thread.

1. “On your iPad, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Under Accounts, tap Add Account

Tap Other, and under Calendars, tap Add Subscribed Calendar

In the Server box, type http://ical.mac.com/ical/US32Holidays.ics

Tap the next button, and when the subscription box appears, tap the save button. No other entries are required.

Open the Calendar app and tap the Calendars button at the top left. You’ll find your new holiday calendar at the bottom of the list under “Subscribed”.

To unsubscribe, go back to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Tap US Holidays Calendar under Accounts, tap the red “delete account” and tap “Delete”.”

2.  Or padman suggests “I got the same thing…so I called apple help and they told me to go to safari, then type inhttp://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/calendars/

then I went to staff pics on the top bar, then scrolled down to find the us calendars download. Looks like there are lots of cool downloads out here. ”
