No usb sound after installing Macosx …
No usb sound after installing Macosx 10.6.4. Two solutions for this.
1. Allan’s suggestion “Not 100% sure what did it, but my round Apple USB speakers are working again.
What I tried:
1) Trashed sound prefs
2) Repaired permissions (there were a couple errors)
3) Repaired Disk
4) Zapped PRAM
2. Shawn’s suggestion. ”I got the speakers working again by using Time Machine to restore the previous version of AppleUSBAudio.kext (version 2.6.8) from 10.6.3. The file resides at “/System/Library/Extensions/”
The one from 10.6.4 is version 2.7.3 ”
