How to Disable “This Page Has Insecure Content” Warning in Chrome – LockerGnome ~ LockerGnome. I got this message today in Chrome version 17. It explains how to find the insecure content and that it normally is related to a plugin.
Firefox Web Browser — Plugin Check & Updates. This is a helpful and fast way to make sure your plugins are up to date. Essential if you are using Flash video or have a PDF plugin.
They are also called LSO’s and you can find a Firefox extension and description of what they are here.
LSO’s threaten your privacy because they never expire.
However, as every cookie they can contain data that you consider as useful. For example stored Flash game settings or personal data for automatic logins. If you decide to delete a LSO make sure not to loose important data. See FAQ on how to exclude certain LSO’s from deletion.
Living Without Adobe Flash If you have Firefox it gives a link for an extension that will default to HTML5. With all the updates to Flash, and the poor performance on mobile devices it seems inevitable to switch. I shared in the comments the extension for Chrome which I use.

Thanks mad102190. I am trying this now and will reboot and see if it fixes the issue. I have had to force quit Chrome for a long time and if this doesn’t work I’m switching back to FF.
I FIGURED OUT HOW TO FIX IT!Ok, so if you\’re using a Mac, close all your applications and open Disk Utility (in your Applications/Utilities/ folder). Click on your Mac hard drive (the one that says Macintosh HD), and then click \
I followed the advice above and it took a very long time for Disk Permissions to fix. Probably a half hour. Then I rebooted. I have successfully closed Chrome six times and while there is a small delay it closes properly. It no longer opens up and says “Chrome shut down improperly.” So that solution fixed the issue for me.
