Google Maintenance Update Brings Down Blogger – TNW Google

Google Maintenance Update Brings Down Blogger – TNW Google. You know it seems that the larger some companies grow, the more like the government they become. Rather than being dependable and useful, they turn into unreliable and inefficient services.

In all fairness, WordPress, Tumbler and other blogging services have had problems as well. However in the WordPress case, they were being attacked and Tumbler doesn’t have the resources of a multi-billion dollar corporation. Given the reputation of Google failures look even worse. It may be unfair but when you are good at something, people expect you to be good at everything. When you are not, then people start to question how well run the things that formally you held in high esteem.

Review Of The Nrelate, Related Posts Plugin For WordPress Blogs :Multi-Media | Local Media | Product Reviews. I am trying this out and seeing if it pays for the cost of running this. Ideally I would like to share the great information that I find on the Internet with others.

Update: After 4 months of using this plugin, it was rarely used and only generated $4 of income. Not worth bothering with. I have deleted it Nov 2011.

Book Review: Dispatches from Blogistan: A travel guide for the modern blogger 9780321395559: Suzanne Stefanac: Books

Amazon.com: Dispatches from Blogistan: A travel guide for the modern blogger 9780321395559: Suzanne Stefanac: Books. I agree with the commentaries. This book is about the social and cultural facts of being a blogger. Those things don’t go out of style. In addition she has a ton of useful references/URL’s for more information. This book was a pleasure to read. Even though it was 192 pages it was a great balance of information that the beginning blogger should know. Many beginners books seem out of context and bare, but this gave you a good overview and idea of what blogging will mean for those interested in it. This is a must read for the blossoming blogger.

Let’s celebrate BlogDay! (via Lieliza Geek)

I’m all for this. I have learned many things from others blogs. Thanks everyone!

Let’s celebrate BlogDay! What is BlogDay? BlogDay was created with the belief that bloggers should have one day dedicated to getting to know other bloggers from other countries and areas of interest. On that day Bloggers will recommend other blogs to their blog visitors. With the goal in mind, on this day every blogger will post a recommendation of 5 new blogs. This way, all blog readers will find themselves leaping around and discovering new, previously unknown blogs. W … Read More

I JUST WANT IT TO WORK! (via RESOURCE ROOM 220)

Is technology lowering our ability to troubleshoot?

I JUST WANT IT TO WORK! Image via Wikipedia We simply expect things to work and when they don’t we get frustrated. Why? Over this past week I have been frustrated because I have been having difficulty posting correctly to my Blogger Blog, using any of the Blogwriters that I have available.  I don’t believe it was a problem with the blog itself, just the tools I was using to post my writing were not working properly. Then yesterday, my wife and I were going for a hike an … Read More

I’ve moved (via Big Fat Blog)

A switcher from Blogger to WordPress. Blogger does get Google to index first, but i get indexed every 15 minutes. I can write a post and in 15 minutes do a search on Google and it shows up. Probably happens to lots of blogs who produce new content each day.

So I decided to pack up shop and move my blog from blogger to wordpress.  WordPress offers more customization options, widgets and allows a mobile view  – which looks great on blackberry and iPhone! M. … Read More

I’m back…why web analytics made me want to keep blogging (via Andreamindsthegap’s Blog)

When you know people are looking at your work, this is often motivation to keep working. I was surprised as well when I started having people reading my work.

I didn’t think anyone was reading my blog.  There were few comments and the Google analytics weren’t picking up the clicks.  So, I got discouraged. But then… I received a different analytics report that said I have had 5000 visitors to my blog in the last three months.  WOW! That certainly changed my perception about the value of my blog and whether or not it was worth my time.  Web analytics are interesting.  Increasingly, more people are awa … Read More
