List of iPod models – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

List of iPod models – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. This is a nice breakdown of the past iPod models. I recently had to help a friend with bring his iPod back to life. It turns out that a third-party company fixed the issue, and I was able to copy the music. He was thrilled.

iTunes Windows 7 Problems – BEX error

iTunes CPU Usage, Again...

iTunes Windows 7 Problems – BEX error. It is almost a requirement to use iTunes or just being practical you need a third-party utility to copy music. I used Senutil earlier and it worked great. It allowed me to copy music from an old iPod to the desktop. Now I am testing another program called iRip. It seems pretty silly that Apple makes the integration of iOS content/device so tight that you risk losing it without third-party help.

Apple tried to silence owner of exploding iPod with gagging order – Times Online. All companies do this but it is so counter-productive now with the breakdown of traditional media. Do they think a full refund was worth the cost of someones silence?

Is the iPod Classic the best?

Summary Photo of a fourth-generation Apple iPo...

It sounds like it from this article Best Ipod: Ipod Classic. I said this in the comments:

This was my first iPod as well. Unfortunately it broke so I never bought another iPod. Did you buy the first generation or get a later one?

Isn’t it surprising they haven’t made a larger capacity one by now?

Designed for the iPhone, it’s a great option to listen without headphones whether you’re listening to your favorite band or a conference call. … Read More

ipod: ipod only plays out of one ear – StumbleUpon

Needle-nose pliers

ipod: ipod only plays out of one ear – StumbleUpon. Nice solution suggested in this thread. Also one of the posters said that he got some aluminum stuck in the line-in port. So I suggested 5 ways to remove the aluminum foil:

  1. Use a toothpick with some gum stuck on the end
  2. Bend a paperclip with a pair of needle nose pliers like a Leatherman
  3. Use the smallest screwdriver in a glasses repair kit
  4. Use two-sided tape and form it into a column by bending it on itself horizontally.
  5. Whittle a wooden matchstick into a fishing hook shape.
