This is very surprising that Apple would suggest for those with slow home Internet connections to bring their Macs to the store to download Lion. I doubt this is going to go over well with their customers. People like things easier not more difficult.

I think that belatedly Apple will recognize that their users really want it on a DVD. Too many businesses have hundreds or thousands of Macs and they may not have bought it through channels that allow them to easily get it. Optical media are on its way out, but we aren’t at the stage yet where flash drives are cheaper than optical media. So that still means that data is cheaper distributed through optical media than over broadband links or flash like the Air software has been.
