It was brought up in this article at TUAW and I responded with my ideas below.

I don’t believe TuneRanger would be a good purchase based on the reviews at several websites like Amazon and Cnet.

9 reviews at Amazon gave it 2 stars (low rating) with the majority giving it 1 star. You can read more here:

If you want to do this your best case is to make a case at Apple for it. If you have Applecare then you can legitimately ask how you can accomplish this. If I were to do this I wouldn’t expect to be able to save all the data. I would expect at the very least that 3rd party software would miss things like smart playlists, and metadata.

Try SyncoTunes. It has pretty good reviews.

Book Review: Customer Reviews: False Economy: A Surprising Economic History of the World

One of the Amazon reviews says it perfectly.

The real suprise with this book is that is was published. The book has no coherent theme or direction. Conclusions are drawn hastily without developing a supporting narrative. Poorly written, and without any factual references. A much better book on a similar theme is The Wealth and Poverty of Nations: Why Some Are So Rich and Some So Poor by David S. Landes.

I agree.  Lots of random facts and no real purpose.

Book Review: Lips Unsealed: A Memoir 9780307463494: Belinda Carlisle: Books

Amazon.com: Lips Unsealed: A Memoir 9780307463494: Belinda Carlisle: Books.  I agree with one of the Amazon reviews when they said that the stories were flat.  You didn’t get much depth here.  It also disappointed many of us who thought she was more creative than she is.  I appreciate her honesty, but it is sometimes hard accepting her decisions.

Book Review: Denial: Why Business Leaders Fail to Look Facts in the Face—and What to Do About It 9781591843139: Richard S. Tedlow: Books

Amazon.com: Denial: Why Business Leaders Fail to Look Facts in the Face—and What to Do About It 9781591843139: Richard S. Tedlow: Books.  I liked this book.  It was well-written and had some interesting and understandable experiences.  It is highly rated at Amazon as well.  It helps you to see where the danger of denying might lead to.

Book Review: Children Of Prometheus: The Accelerating Pace Of Human Evolution 9780738201689: Christopher Wills: Books

Amazon.com: Children Of Prometheus: The Accelerating Pace Of Human Evolution 9780738201689: Christopher Wills: Books.  I agree with the reviews on Amazon.  This book is mostly speculation and long-winded.  You can find better synthesis of this material from many sources.
