Shockwave and Flash on the Mac is less than optimal

mikons.com | create and connect. So I came across the first site that requested Shockwave, and it seemed interesting so I clicked on the link and installed it. After restarting my browser, I went back to the page. For me, it does not show the mouse tool tip once you select any of the right top tools. Not being able to see the tool tip is critical in a painting application. I don’t know where the responsibility lies with this, but I do not recommend Shockwave in Chrome on the Mac.

For that matter I am coming to the conclusion that Flash on the Mac is a mistake as well. If there is a flaw in browsing the internet it overwhelmingly comes from videos/flash enabled games. It has gotten so bad I watch flash on an old PC to minimize the problems. This is just shocking from a company that makes such complex software for the Mac and has such strong ties to Apple.

Charming. As a friendly gesture, I sent a note to Mikons to let them know this was a problem. My email was returned because the customer service box was full. Looks like I can’t recommend them if they don’t have minimal customer service levels.

Adobe Photoshop CS5 | Reviews. If you are looking for a bunch of positive reviews of adobe photoshop look no further. Most of them are 5 stars. Photoshop is a great tool and almost every designer that I have worked with has loved it. If anything, designers are inspired by its power and versatility.

2010 in review: The year for creatives Software Creative Notes Macworld

2010 in review: The year for creatives Software Creative Notes Macworld.  Talks about Adobe of course, but also some great stuff like the new Pantone Plus system.  Hard to believe that they are getting rid of that old standard to move to something new.  Almost every place that I have ever worked at used Pantone.
