In Mac OS Lion, where do you find your…: Apple Support Communities. Thanks QuickTimeKirk. I didn’t know about this trick. I have typed the path in the go to folder command box.

Switch to the Finder.

Hold down the option key while using the Go menu to expose the User/Library folder.

Finder right click “opens with” hangs

Finder (software)

Finder right click \. Baltwo has the solution. I have never seen this solution before. Great work.

FWIW, there’s a com.apple.LaunchServices.plist in my user’s Preferences folder.

Launch the Terminal app in /Applications/Utilities/, copy & paste in this one-liner, hit the return key, quit Terminal, and restart:

/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user

can’t ssh from Lion to Snow Leopard: Apple Support Communities

English: ssh picture Español: ssh picture

can\’t ssh from Lion to Snow Leopard: Apple Support Communities. So IdahoBackwoods shared this. Run this command in terminal to find out what may be blocking it. For him, it turned out to be some old junk like Excel 2008 that was blocking the port.

lsof -Pnl +M -i4

Could not load Language & Text preference pane

Language. Interesting error. Nice solution by Carolyn. I have never seen this personally. I would have suspected a corrupted font for the designers that would have an issue with this.

Might be a corrupted preference file  (.plist)

Go to ~/Library/Preferences

Move the com.apple.systempreferences.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.

Restart your Mac.

Is Lion Server suitable for home use? Ars investigates

Is Lion Server suitable for home use? Ars investigates. Apple is going to have to do better than this if they think that Enterprises are going to support them. I think Apple has given up on the Enterprise 10 years ago, and never really cared then either. For me, this isn’t enough to promise stability to anyone.
