Book Review: The Illustrated Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales (9780517285251): Grimm, Arthur Rackham: Books

Amazon.com: The Illustrated Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales (9780517285251): Grimm, Arthur Rackham: Books. This is a beautifully done book with great artwork. Some of the stories are hard to grasp the meaning of. I don’t agree with the message of the stories, but they are thought provoking.

Book Review: Making the World Work Better: The Ideas That Shaped a Century and a Company (9780132755108): Kevin Maney, Steve Hamm, Jeffrey O\’Brien: Books

Amazon.com: Making the World Work Better: The Ideas That Shaped a Century and a Company (9780132755108): Kevin Maney, Steve Hamm, Jeffrey O\’Brien: Books. This is a terrible book. Unless you are working in the HR or PR department for IBM this is filled with half-truths and corporate credo’s. I like the pictures though.

Book Review: The Nobel Book of Answers: The Dalai Lama, Mikhail Gorbachev, Shimon Peres, and Other Nobel Prize Winners Answer Some of Lifes Most Intriguing Questions for Young People 9780689863103: Various, Bettina Stiekel, Jimmy Carter: Books

Amazon.com: The Nobel Book of Answers: The Dalai Lama, Mikhail Gorbachev, Shimon Peres, and Other Nobel Prize Winners Answer Some of Lifes Most Intriguing Questions for Young People 9780689863103: Various, Bettina Stiekel, Jimmy Carter: Books. This book is best for a High School and lower audience, although it says for 10 and up. Since it was written in 2001 many of its statements are incorrect by more modern experiments. It might be worthwhile as an introductory text. My favorite part was the writing by the Dalai Lama about what love is.

Book Review: The EMOTIONAL BRAIN: THE MYSTERIOUS UNDERPINNINGS OF EMOTIONAL LIFE (9780684836591): Joseph Ledoux: Books

Amazon.com: The EMOTIONAL BRAIN: THE MYSTERIOUS UNDERPINNINGS OF EMOTIONAL LIFE (9780684836591): Joseph Ledoux: Books. This book is terrible. He says he wants it to be understandable to both the general public and scientists, but it does neither. Don’t waste your time with this book.

Book Review: Mean Genes: From Sex to Money to Food: Taming Our Primal Instincts (9780142000076): Terry Burnham, Jay Phelan: Books

Amazon.com: Mean Genes: From Sex to Money to Food: Taming Our Primal Instincts (9780142000076): Terry Burnham, Jay Phelan: Books. This is one of the stupidest books I have ever read. There is intentional ignorance in this book. Avoid it.

Book Review: Hands of Light: A Guide to Healing Through the Human Energy Field (9780553345391): Barbara Brennan, Jos. A. Smith: Books

Amazon.com: Hands of Light: A Guide to Healing Through the Human Energy Field (9780553345391): Barbara Brennan, Jos. A. Smith: Books. I thought this had some interesting things to say. I don’t agree with everything she had to say. For the time it was published it was good, but it has been superseded by newer information.

Amazon.com: Confessions of a Prairie Bitch: How I Survived Nellie Oleson and Learned to Love Being Hated (9780061962141): Alison Arngrim: Books. This is a funny and touching book about the other side of Nellie Olsen. I hated her as a child, but I would not have if I had known her real history. Reviews of this are overwhelming positive. I would suggest this is a must read book for this year.

Amazon.com: The Sunflower: On the Possibilities and Limits of Forgiveness (Newly Expanded Paperback Edition) (9780805210606): Simon Wiesenthal: Books. I thought this was an interesting situation that lead one to examine the encounter more closely. I think that the most challenging thing in life is to forgive, and not everyone is ready to do that when they have the opportunity.
